    same thing happened to me mine was like over a year old and then just suddenly when i turned it on the next day it was freakin red

    to be honest im a xbox 360 fan but i recommend you should get a ps3 because its harder to get yellow light of death than red rings so yeah get a ps3 its rediculus to waste your money on another 2 xbox 360s

    I may got some bad news for you, you might be aware that PSN went down while ago, and all old PS3s have major problem in them and should not be started after fix.
    Btw. I do own PS3 myself. I never use it though as I like to play 2010 games instead of sticking at 2007.
    PC is for gaming, PS3 is for decoration and BluRay movies. Xbox… nothing?

  8. TRUST ME YOU NEW ONE WONT WORK EITHER I HAD MY PS3 SINCE RELEASE DATE STILL GOING BUT A PS3 plus ps3 really good exclusives s well ps3 i garrantee you wont have any problems

    The 3-ring RROD is caused by overheating. To fix this, your best bet is to get some arctic silver thermal paste and a fresh set of x-clamps (easy to find on eBay).

    The 1-Ring RROD is an e74. This is caused by either a bad power-supply or bad solder. Try swapping up the PS on that one, see if it’s a short in the PS. If that’s no good, then the 1-ring needs a reflow soldering.

    So, the 3-ring is fairly simple to repair with some basic computer hardware knowledge, GL with the 1-ring,.

    Ok, the 3-light RROD is due to hardware failure (ie. the GPU or CPU overheats). A possible DIY fix is to pop it open, take off the heatsink, and put some arctic silver on it. You may however need to get new X-clamps, but they’re cheap on eBay.

    The 1-ring is an e74 ring. There are two causes: Bad power-supply, or bad solder. If it’s the solder it needs a reflow soldering job.

    The 3-ring is actually a fairly simple fix, but the 1-ring pretty-much requires special skills to fix.

    happened to me mate, but not RROD.
    warranty ended, and now disk drive not working. pissed me off. had to get a new one. Ah well.

  13. the 360 in the bottom is overheated… some cable might have melted… which would mean that it has been on for to long in a row… (The term is also called the ring of death) but if you ask me all electronics made over the past 5 – 10 years won’t hold for more that a year… (I’m realy pleased with my supernitendo :3 )

    But the one with one flashing light… I have no idea what that could be…

  14. you are a moron sir, clearly there is no excuse for microsoft to be selling deffective products. Playstation offers a much more powerful console and their failure rating is less than 2% while xbox is over 30%

  16. You shouldn’t complain, there is very good service, at least in Norway. I have sent my console in 3 times. The first time I got 12mounths goldmembership second time I got the same and the 3. time I got 6mouthes gold and a 12GB harddisk ;D This is Norway though…

    um the factory warranty is 3 years man. atleast in north america. i sent my xbox to microsoft and got it back in 2 weeks and didn’t cost a thing. that was 15 months ago and the thing’s been working fine ever since.
