I was thinking the exact same thing I may be getting a SLIM. I am using ESR at this moment in time aswell I love seeing that Cyan screen! Haha.
Good luck finding one for the FAT ps2. The ethernet is so much better, I have a fat but planning to buy a used ps2 slim for myself now so I can boot off ethernet and use ESR instead of borrowing my brother’s slim ps2. Lol. -Versatile
@gamedexterity
Ah I see thanks! Also is it worth purchasing the Network Adapter for the PS2?
Great questions. After FMCB is installed, you can still save games to whatever free space you have left. FMCB does not mess with your existing save game files. – Versatile
Yes. – Versatile
Just to make sure if I install this it wont interfere with the game save already on my memory card will it (I think Im going to back them up to the other card any way). But after you install FMCB is the card just used for FMCB or can there be game save on the card as well. Thanks
Can i install all the programs from USB Flash Disk ?
another awesome guide my friend just did this with my phat ps2 didnt need swap magic becuase i already had the ps1 exploit
@TheMusikHouse : Watch the video and find out. You can play games off ethernet, and the game compatibility mode is much better than usb advance. Example: I can play god of war 1 and 2 with OPL, usbadvance just quits on me. – Versatile
@gamedexterity
How better?
@bassbroom2 : It is not there by default obviously. Watch the open ps2 loader and see how to add it yourself. OPL is better than usb advance. – Versatile
hey iinstalled the mcboot and i’m not seeing usb advance app.wtf
hey man the ULaunch Elf V4.40 CD is not working is for me the cd wont load black screen . now i now u said it doesn’t work on slime ps2 after march 2008 but mines is before then. does it make a difference what type of?
thanks man!! blessed
Why ask a question you know the answer to already? Answer is yes, but let’s be smarter. After launch mcboot, no need to switch memory cards. Put it in slot 2, and tell the installer to install to slot 2. – Versatile
can i mod a next memory card with an an already exploited memory card? say if i launched ulaunch and it read the usb, then launch mcboot and switch with the unmodded memory and clicked on multiversion install, will it work?
oh now I have it I copied USBADVN.ELF and configured mcboot
why I dont have USB ADVANCE option in my mcboot menu?
Jesus christ. I want you to right now take a look at your magic key tools, I think they are making the scratches! Please watch my other video about the ethernet option, this will save your discs for sure, or try Open PS2 Loader to play games off USB hard drive!!!! – Versatile
@gamedexterity
It worked! Thanks versatile!!!!
i have just one more question. when i tried out a game, it worked brilliantly, but when i removed the disk i noticed that it was full of scratches, and it wasnt before. is this normal?
You seriously need to make sure your USB pen drive is compatible with 1.1 if your USB isnt working try a old USB!!
@TheMusikHouse you have to burn it on dvd an you must have the dvd version of swap magic
(continuation)
6) Switch on your PS2 and place your swapmagic Disc in the machine
7) Wait while the disc loads up….The disc should understand that you have a usb device plugged in, and look for the SWAPMAGIC.ELF file on it. Once found it will execute the ELF file!
(copied this info from afterdawn forum member ‘mrjerk’)
I hope that helps…
1) Hook your usb device up to your pc (mines one of those USB watches ,
2) Create a folder on your usb device called SWAPMAGIC. This has to be in the root of the folder structure, and not nested anywhere else.
3) Take your previously downloaded ulaunchelf.ELF file, and rename it SWAPMAGIC.ELF
4) Place your renamed file into your SWAPMAGIC folder on your USB device.
5) Plug in your usb device into one of the PS2′s USB ports.
You have great tutorials dude! /I am seem to have a problem I hope you can help it would be great. / Basically I burnt uLaunchElf on to CD just like you had said at around 10x when I go to swap the disc swap-magic CD version says Not a valid PS2 disk!
